I lucked up on Copper Ridge after several failed attempts at finding the right property for us. I was really discouraged because everything near the Austin area was so expensive. I felt that we weren’t going to be able to find something that would fit in our budget and allow us the flexibility of buying now and building later. Having retired from both the military and law enforcement, we are ready to sit outside, relax and make new friends in a gorgeous community. However, because of our service, we have two homes in different states. The housing markets there don’t even compare to how quickly homes move here! Copper Ridge was an answered prayer. Having the peace of mind that at least your land is secure while you wait for houses to sell is a big weight off of our shoulders.
Not sure of what was left in the inventory at Copper Ridge, I took a leap of faith and submitted my information online and within the hour I received a call from Nick Shumard. He explained the pros and cons of the lots that were still left. He also talked to me about the amenities of Copper Ridge in detail. He answered every question that I could possibly think of! Believe me, there were many. In order for me to get my husband to buy off on moving so far out, I’d have to be able to sell him on it. So I hit Nick with everything I thought my husband would ask.
We met Nick the following day and the first property he took us to was our dream property! He listened to everything I’d told him the day prior and was able to show us exactly what we wanted and needed right from the start!! We ended up buying a little over an acre the very same day. That is plenty big for what our needs are. We don’t want to be right on top of our neighbors like most subdivisions but close enough to establish new relationships with other owners in the community. It met and exceeded our expectations. It’s like our own little piece of heaven!
The entire process was maybe an hour or so. We chatted with Nick and had a few laughs. It was like talking to an old friend. He made it easy and answered any additional questions that we may have had. Can I tell you that he is still answering our questions and still helping us? We had issues with papers we needed to fax and we couldn’t figure out what they were. He responded immediately and took care of it for us. That’s outstanding customer service and speaks highly of their company. After he sold us the lot, he could have easily washed his hands and left us to fend for ourselves, but he continues to be there for us. I really appreciate Nick. He’s awesome! We even offered to help him clean his parents yard as a thanks. A little inside joke. They live in Copper Ridge too!!! He showed us the work they had for him to do while he was showing us around the community! I don’t think he’d allow his parents to live anywhere that wasn’t ideal. We’ve found a good friend in Nick.

My wife and I had been looking for Texas Hill Country property for over 3 years when we got around to going to Copper Ridge. We had seen it for over a year in the Houston Sunday ads but never really considered it though we had been to a number of their sister locations and several others being sold by another arm of the company. All total we probably spent over 60 days driving throughout central Texas looking and never finding exactly what we wanted. Once we met Brent Smith and he gave us some of the details about Copper Ridge it was a fairly easy decision. It has the amenities we were looking for from the start- gated community, underground utilities, curbed streets, close to services and shopping, sensible restrictions that protect our investment and a variety of lot options. We only wish we had come to Copper Ridge much sooner- it might have shortened our search. We went through a multitude of pitches at the other locations we visited, they were all professional but seemed to always have a bit of pressure when we tried to leave without a decision. Copper Ridge is Amazing!!! I saw the $10,000 off ad in the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung and drove out to Copper Ridge in May of 2015. My realtor, Kathleen Schindler, and I had just 10 minutes to look at the offered lots before going to the SAT airport to catch a plane. Flying overhead later, in a S-80 jet, I looked out the window and there it was….Copper Ridge at 8000 feet!! Upon landing at DFW, I immediately called my realtor and told her to write up a contract for Lot 195. A beautiful, panoramic view of the Hill Country was in my future!

We had been looking for land or a house with a larger lot for about six months when we decided on a whim one Sunday afternoon to take a ride to Copper Ridge and see what they had available. Little did we know that by the end of our visit we would end up with a lot where we could build our forever home. At our initial visit, Brent went above and beyond when it came to talking to us about the community, taking us around the development and answering the many questions we had (and there were lots). He carefully listened to us about what we were looking for and showed us several lots that fit our criteria. He introduced us to Todd, who gave us additional details, insight and history of Copper Ridge and the local area. Even after the sale both Brent and Todd remain available to us at any time to answer questions or just simply chat.
We ultimately chose to live in Copper Ridge for several reasons. One of the major reasons we chose Copper Ridge is the large lot size and the ability to build the house we wanted on our timeline. It had been somewhat frustrating over the past months of searching to find nothing that we really wanted in a house or land, so our Sunday afternoon whim paid off in a huge and positive way. Another reason we chose to live here is security. Because we are a military family, the gated community aspect gives us some peace of mind, especially if a deployment should come in the future. Lastly, we liked Copper Ridge for its location. We love that it’s in the Hill Country, but still close enough to the shops, restaurants, and attractions in the surrounding areas.

I just want to comment on Clint's outstanding job in helping us to select our property at Copper Ridge. We began our search for property several years ago somewhere between Austin and San Antonio. Each year our search area grew smaller until we finally chose New Bruanfels last year. Our first stop was at Copper Ridge. Clint greeted as we entered the office. After a short chat, he asked what we were looking for in a lot. We told him generally what we were looking for. I was very impressed how well he listened to us and what we wanted, even though it was his first day and we were his first customers. After we saw the first lot he asked what we liked and what was not quite right. We saw 3 more lots and each time he refined his search and kept getting closer to what we wanted. The next lot was a home run, even to the point that it brought tears to my wife! We then went back to the office and in short order had all the paper work done and become proud owners of our little piece of heaven at Copper Ridge.
Over the next couple of months Clint has let us know the progress of work being done in regards to getting the utilities in and the final grading of our road. Hopefully the pavement will be completed in short order. I know when it's done, Clint will let us know. We have chosen Casadomaine as our builders and Clint has been in contact with them to help as needed. Since October, we are proud to say that Clint is our first friend in Texas and not just someone who sold us property.

What started out as a informational trip looking at different areas to put our retirement home turned out to be a whole lot more! It was between Louisville, Kentucky and the hill country of Texas. I have never been to either, but I knew I didn't want winters and snow anymore. So Texas it will be!
We initially went to another subdivision and put a deposit down, but after a restless night not feeling totally comfortable with our decision, we set out to look at other places and ended up at Copper Ridge.
We met Shonna for the first time and she took us out to our dream property right off the bat! She listened to our wants and needs, and the first place she took us to was a Grand Slam! We actually ended up buying 2 acres! We also love the fact that many of the owners in Copper Ridge are multi lot owners, so we know that there's not going to be some crazy subdivision put in down the road.
The whole process from start to finish went smoothly. We met Todd at that point and he answered all the questions that Shonna couldn't. The admin, Dolores, was very helpful as well - she even invited our dogs to stay with her as we drove around with Shonna. We wouldn't do that to our enemies, but during the signing our dogs were in the office instead of being cooped up in the car.
Everyone is so professional and there is no pressure attached, we just felt very comfortable!

After tirelessly searching for property in the area of Boerne and nearby cities..... my wife and I had the good fortune of meeting with Shonna and Todd at Copper Ridge in New Braunfels. We were looking for a quiet parcel to retreat and eventually retire to in the Texas Hill Country.
Shonna gave us a tour of the area and showed us around other properties for comparison. She never tried to sell us anything; she just listened to what we were looking for. Her extensive knowledge of the area seemed unsurpassed; the questions we asked were answered very proficiently. Coming from the city, it was quite the experience meeting a salesperson who was so genuine. The first couple of parcels we viewed turned out to be too remote for our liking or the view were not there. Shonna showed us a lot that was not listed but met our needs as far as views and size. I do not typically write a testimonial letter - actually this is the first I have ever written. My wife and I found Copper Ridge on the first day we began looking for land, and it was our first stop. We happened to be driving on 46 after a Sunday lunch, and we saw Copper Ridge from a distance and decided to make a quick stop. We ended up staying in Copper Ridge for three hours looking at lots and the model homes.

Last week I had a client fly in from Colorado interested in property in New Braunfels, and surrounding areas. I drove that client through 4 neighborhoods before we finished our tour at Copper Ridge. My client was somewhat pleased with the 4 communities we toured before, but was not wowed by any of them. We made Copper Ridge our last stop, and when we pulled in, the wow was there. For us, it all started early in our marriage as we agreed to put off plans with the faltering economy. We could make some improvements to our current home and "ride out the storm" -- but for how long. We were immediately contacted and given the information we requested. As we had just begun to search, we were really only looking for areas and not specific subdivisions. But the more information we received, the more we wanted to go and view the property.
Rusty Nesbitt emailed me photos of a couple of specific lots at the top of the ridge and I think we knew right then that we had found exactly what we were looking for. The pictures convinced us that we needed to view the property in person.
When we arrived at Copper Ridge, we felt so welcomed. Rusty showed us the lots we had discussed and we just fell in love. The view is incredible! The south breeze is awesome! The trees are so huge and give such shade! We knew we did not have to look any further, but then it got even better. We were introduced to Robyn and Roberto who had just built their home. They had company, who is also building in Copper Ridge, but still invited us into their new home. We sat on their back porch and enjoyed their awesome view and made wonderful new friends. Then on to meet more new Copper Ridge folks! I don't know when we have enjoyed a day so much. The people immediately became our
new friends and welcomed us whole heartedly to their new community. We cannot wait to build and
join the wonderful people whom we met that day. Copper Ridge truly feels like a family and we can't
wait to become a permanent part of that family.
